How signals work
StopLyte helps you see real estate differently — not just what's listed, but what might be possible. We do that through signals.
What is a signal?
A signal reflects how open a homeowner is to a conversation. Every home falls into one of three colors:
This is home. Not interested — and that's fully respected.
Not listing, but would listen if the right buyer came along.
Actively open to offers and ready to talk.
Signals are private
Signals are tied to properties — not people.
- No names are shown
- No contact information is shared
- Your identity stays private unless you choose to connect
Where signals come from
A home's color can come from:
- A homeowner setting their own signal
- A homeowner's response to outreach
- Updates made on the StopLyte platform
Homeowners can change or remove their signal at any time.
What about predictive signals?
Some homes show an estimated signal based on data and patterns — market activity, property characteristics, and platform behavior. These are predictive insights, not confirmed intent.

- Do not mean a home is for sale
- May change at any time
They simply highlight homes that may be more likely to be open.
Asking an unlisted home: the Honk
If a home hasn't set a signal yet, a buyer can send a Honk — a request for StopLyte to reach out, privately and respectfully, and find out where the owner stands.
- We come back with a color — Red, Yellow, or Green
- If they're open, we introduce buyer and homeowner privately
- If the answer is Red, we respect it — no further contact
Homeowners are never obligated to respond, and a Honk never lists a home or commits anyone to anything.
Why this matters
Most platforms only show homes that are already listed. StopLyte helps you see:

Buyer signals
Buyers can express interest by creating a buyer signal. This lets homeowners:
- See that real demand exists nearby
- Choose whether to engage
A buyer's identity stays private unless they choose to connect.
Homeowners stay in control
At all times:
- You control your signal
- You choose whether to respond
- No one is obligated to engage

Signals are private and self-reported or estimated. A signal is not a listing, an offer, or a guarantee of availability or sale, and StopLyte does not act as a real estate brokerage or agent. Homeowners may change or remove a signal at any time.
