Terms of Service

StopLyte is a private matchmaking service: buyers describe what they are looking for, homeowners privately indicate how open they are, and homeowners decide whether anything happens. StopLyte is not a real estate brokerage, is not a licensed agent, does not list properties, and is not a multiple listing service. Signals are not listings. Setting a signal is not an offer to sell, and posting a buyer signal is not an offer to buy. We facilitate private introductions; any transaction, negotiation, representation, inspection, or closing is entirely between you and the other party and your own professionals. We are not a party to it and receive no commission from it.

You must be 18 or older. You sign in with a one-time email code; you are responsible for maintaining control of your email account. One account per person; agents may maintain signals for multiple clients under one account.

By claiming a home you represent that you own it or are authorized by the owner to manage its presence on StopLyte. We may verify claims and may remove any claim we believe is not authorized. False claims are grounds for immediate termination.

You agree not to: use information obtained through StopLyte to contact or solicit anyone outside the service without their consent; attempt to identify a private homeowner or buyer; scrape, harvest, or systematically collect data; misrepresent who you are, your readiness, or your representation of a client; or attempt to circumvent any privacy protection, including probing whether a specific home has a signal. Using StopLyte data for off-platform solicitation is the fastest way to lose your account permanently.

StopLyte is committed to the letter and spirit of the Fair Housing Act and Tennessee fair housing law. Buyer signals describe homes and timing, never who will live in a home. We screen free-text content and may edit or decline to publish content that references protected characteristics. You agree not to make decisions on StopLyte on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status, or national origin.

A Honk lets a buyer pay a fee for StopLyte to ask the owner of record of an unclaimed home, once, whether they are Red, Yellow, or Green. The fee buys that answer and nothing else: no contact information, no message, no channel, no retry. Limits: one Honk per home per 90 days; three outstanding per buyer; a full refund if no answer within 21 days; owners may permanently opt out; a “not selling” answer means no further inquiries to that home for twelve months. Fees are otherwise non-refundable.

Any home value shown to a homeowner is drawn from public county records, is provided for context only, is not an appraisal, a valuation, or an opinion of worth, and should not be relied on for any decision. Aggregate market statistics are estimates based on activity within StopLyte. We make no guarantee that any signal, match, introduction, or transaction will occur.

You retain ownership of what you write; you grant us a license to display it within the service as these terms and the Privacy Policy describe. We may remove any content at our discretion, including content that violates Section 4 or 5.

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Sections 5 to 12 survive termination.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. This is a beta service; features may change, break, or be discontinued.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StopLyte’s total liability for any claim arising out of the service will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or for the conduct of any user or third party.

These terms are governed by Tennessee law; venue is Davidson County, Tennessee. If we change these terms materially, we will notify you by email before the change takes effect. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Contact: barrett@stoplyte.com.
